In 1940, Linda Vista was built to house aircraft workers on what was once an olive grove. Homes are a combination of single family houses, duplexes, and apartments. Streets wind around in the hills above Mission Valley on the south and University of San Diego perched on its own hill to the north. Linda Vista real estate overlooks Mission Bay, the Pacific Ocean to the west. Residents are pleased with city and ocean views from many Linda Vista homes. Students
attend the San Diego City School District, good schools, and residents
take advantage to great commutes and great local activities. Mission
Valley, just below, is sprawled with malls, super stores, restaurants,
two theatres, and a place called Hotel Circle. Just further south is
Balboa Park, offering museums, a stage theatre, and the San Diego Zoo.
Downtown is just under 10 miles and provides many jobs, great nightlife,
and the city’s new baseball stadium. Linda Vista rests between
Interstate 5 on the west and Highway 163 on the east.
