Lemon
Grove, most notably the "Best Climate on Earth," is the perfect
atmosphere for the lemon
 groves that began blossoming in the 1940s and
have turned into residential lands. Just ten miles east of Downtown San
Diego, Lemon Grove manages to maintain a rural ambiance with large lots
and shady streets.
Lemon
Grove real estate is made up of older homes that are well kept and are a
good market for first time buyers on a budget. Commute is easy on
Highway 94 and the Trolley is an alternative, taking riders to Central
San Diego and Mission Valley.
Community activities are in abundance including Old Time days, concerts,
an arts complex, a playhouse, and a reservoir-park nearby. Kids enjoy
traditional sports and a $12 million bond that renovated schools to
include technology resources and expanded hallways. The public library
was expanded in 1994.
 “Operation Downtown” is a volunteer project to revive the Downtown
Village business district and has generated many large and small
businesses into the region. Home Depot dots the Broadway Business
District and restaurants are moving in to serve the many patrons that
this wave has produced.
