Sherman Heights, South Park, Golden Hill, Chollas View, Chollas Creek, and Mount Hope are all make up the zip code of 92102. This area is just east and north of Downtown San Diego, surrounded by Highways 15 and 94, and Interstate 805, making commutes very convenient. Hilly areas give rise to local homes, with the ocean just a few miles west. Some lots are small, larger homes have larger lots, and plenty of foliage grows everywhere. Homes in the nicer areas of Golden Hill and Sherman Heights have bold architecture and smooth lines, giving neighborhoods nostalgic character. Most San Diego homes were built in the 1940s and 1950s but some are older and remodeled. Chollas Creek converges here, stretching out to San Diego Bay. There are four public parks and a trolley station just south. A local TV channel runs its office just north of the 94, along Chollas Creek. There are four local public schools that belong to the San Diego City School District, ranking between the 60th and 90th percentile in the state. This area is also convenient to so many locations including: Downtown with hundreds of restaurants, Horton Plaza, and the new baseball park; Balboa Park including several museums, a stage theatre, and the San Diego Zoo; Old Town which captures the era that San Diego was first settled with Mexican tradition and wonderful food; Hillcrest with unique shops, restaurants, eclectic streets, and an upbeat feel.
