Rancho San Diego has over 20,000 residents
who live in a master-planned community covering 4,800 acres of land. The
majority of homes have been built since 1980 and many have three and
four-bedrooms.
There are a few million dollar homes but the majority of Rancho San Diego real estate is designed for the middle class. The community is mostly rural, with the exception of the homes. Located south of El Cajon and 19 miles from Downtown San Diego, Rancho San Diego enjoys a quiet setting. The community offers many recreational activities, including five golf courses, local parks, the Sweetwater River, and many hiking, jogging and mountain biking trails. The Cajon Valley Union School District and Grossmont Union High School District serve kids who rank between the 60th and 90th percentile in the state, showing a strong support for education. Cuyamaca College is in nearby El Cajon.
